Campus Recreation Reseach Project

Reseach

Course: PRAD 291 - Reseach, Data, and Insights for Public Relations and Advertising

Instructor: Juliet Stantz

Problem Statement: The Ray Meyer Fitness Center, the only on-campus gym at DePaul University, is facing declining rates of student utilization post-pandemic. Despite free access to the facility with tuition, The Ray has yet to rebound to pre-pandemic attendance. Factors such as DePaul’s status as a commuter school, a rising desire for luxury fitness gyms, and trending non-traditional workout methods, The Ray believes, have led students to seek alternative options. Our research aims to address the issue by identifying retention strategies via a combination of primary and secondary research.
